TRICA Castle-Church Overview

Trica Castle-Church is one of the newest wedding venues in Boise. This venue is actually home to the Treasure Valley Institute for Children’s Arts. TRICA is dedicated to providing educational art opportunities for children in the Treasure Valley. They offer dance camps, visual arts and performing arts experiences, and after school programs for children. They also offer some adult arts education programs and preschool enrichment programs. Years ago TRICA, along with thousands of members of the community came together to save the historic building on Eastman Street in downtown Boise. This 1907 building had once housed a church but had fallen into significant disrepair. TRICA and the community were able to save this landmark and restore it to it’s full glory. TRICA now houses their art school in this building, and in late October of 2021 opened it up for event bookings on the weekends and evenings.

Features

They recently finished up restoring the beautiful Sanctuary Ballroom, which features 45′ ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and massive windows.

Besides the 1900’s architectural features, the building itself is a sprawling 12,000 square feet, and can hold events with up to 348 guests. The lower level can also be rented out if you need more space. Alternatively, you can also choose to transform it into a speakeasy or a getting ready area. The lower level can fit up to 215 people.

One other important feature to note, is that proceeds from events go towards children’s arts programs!

Pricing

TRICA offers limited rental opportunities on weeknights and on the weekends. For the weekends they offer 5 hour and 10 hour packages with small gatherings ranging from 4k-5k. If you are looking to book the ballroom and the lower level, their packages range from 5-7k for 5 hours, and between 6-9k for 10 hours.

Other Considerations

One drawback to this location (or advantage depending on how you look at it), is that this venue does not have parking. TRICA is centrally located in downtown Boise, so they don’t have a parking lot. However, there is plenty of street parking in downtown Boise, as well as ample transportation options. One great thing about downtown Boise; everything is relatively close by, so you can always choose to walk, bike, bus, scooter, or simply hop in an Uber or Lyft.
