Downtown Boise Couple Session – Sumr + Kyle

Sumr and Kyle had booked a wedding package with us last year that had included an engagement photoshoot. However, considering Sumr had lived out of state and Kyle is currently serving in the military, we had all agreed it would be best to push their separate shoot till after their wedding day, when they’d both be available (and in Idaho). Since we had already spent their wedding day along side them, it was easy to pick up where we had left off during their downtown Boise couple session. Their wedding had been quite the party and Sumr did not stray away from keeping that party going. It was obvious that she continued to bring out the best in Kyle. 

The evening took place at multiple locations in Downtown Boise, ID. Sumr + Kyle wanted a downtown Boise couple session, because although they aren’t currently living here, they hope to be able to come back after Kyle retires. We started at the steps of the Capitol where we tried taking some not-so traditional pictures. We avoided the big bell and focused on them together on the steps. Although we spent all but five minutes there, it was obvious that they felt at home. Not only in Boise, but together. 

We then walked down to a parking garage in the middle of the city, taking pictures along the way with touches of Idaho lingering behind them. On top of the parking garage the evening sky revealed the most beautiful hue of blue and orange. They reminisced on the past year and on their wedding day. But what excited them the most was not the time they had already spent together, but the time they were going to spend together. From dinner dates to the possibilities of where they’d end up. However, it doesn’t really matter when or where. As long as they are together, they were home.

We ended the evening taking some last minute photographs in front of the Egyptian Theater. It was a simple evening. One that felt only like a beautiful stroll through the city. But what stood out the most was not the sky or the town, but Sumr and Kyle; two newly weds excited for what has yet to come.
