Sharon reached out to us earlier last year to inquire about a couples session for her and her husband Brandon. Brandon was in the military, and as is the problem with many military couples, they had a pretty small and quick ceremony. This meant they didn’t get a chance to get engagement pictures done, or pictures for their wedding. Because of this, she wanted to make sure they had some pictures showcasing their love for this city, and the outdoors with a Bogus Basin couple session.
Sharon wanted pictures that really showed the love they had for each other, and she was also hoping for some gorgeous fall colors because it’s her favorite season. We decided on late October, as that’s often the peak of fall colors in Boise.
The week before we checked out the location we had in mind, and the colors were ALMOSTTT to their peak, but I could tell they would be there the following week for their session. When we got there the next week for S+B’s session, the last little bit of road to the parking area by our location was closed off due to the snowfall that was on its way. S+B were down to walk the rest of the way, so off we went! Just as I predicted, the colors were at their peak, and the area looked gorgeous!
What I didn’t predict was how cold it was going to be. The weather in Boise had been rather mild and hadn’t gotten very cold so late into fall, which is unusual. That weekend there was a drop in temperature, no to mention it’s always colder when you’re in the mountains.
S+B were such troopers though, and they were great at hiding how cold they really were in their photos.
We had a great time wandering around for this Bogus Basin couple session with S+B, and we loved hearing their story and witnessing their love for each other. Thanks so much for letting us tag along on your adventure!
xx Jackie
