Engagement Session at the Military Reserve | Kim + Colby

Kim and Colby first reached out to us in late 2018 about their upcoming wedding in Boise. Kim told us that they began dating several years prior, and that Colby proposed on the dirt lot where they were building their dream home. It was such a sweet story, and when we met up with them to discuss their upcoming wedding, we learned how sweet they were as well. They decided they wanted to schedule an engagement session along with their wedding package.

We ended up scheduling their engagement session at the military reserve on a cloudy day in early spring. Kim also brought her mom along to help with their dog Jax. We went up to one of our favorite spots in the Boise area, the Boise foothills. Unfortunately, early spring in Boise is very rainy, so although it stayed dry during the session, the trails leading up to the location were super muddy. Thankfully Kim brought along an extra pair of shoes, and she and Colby were such troopers hiking up and down the muddy trails.

We all had a good time getting to know each other a little more, and getting some great pictures along the way. Jax was so happy to be able to tag along, and be bribed with some treats for some photos. Kim and Colby claimed that they had never had professional pictures done before, and were nervous about being in front of the camera for the first time. They were total naturals in front of the camera, and we were able to capture some super sweet photos of them. Although the spring air was a bit chilly, the love shared between them kept them warm and smiling.
