Ally + Brendon | Lake Fork, Idaho Cabin Wedding | Jackie and Michael Photography

We’ve known Ally and Brendon for years. Ally and I attended middle school and high school together. Between sharing classes like American Sign Language, to hanging out with the same group of friends, Ally and I have been friends for quite some time. We all went to the same schools, so Jackie was in the same class as Brendon, and Ally and I were also great friends with Brendon’s younger brother, Devon. With many years of shared friendships, it only seemed fitting that we were asked to capture their special day.

Knowing Ally and Brendon before their relationship was great. Although we lost touch over the years, we remained friends on social media. It has been amazing to see them start their journey together. From dating, becoming engaged, to having their beautiful baby boy, Jackson, these two were absolutely destined to having a beautiful wedding day.

Ally and Brendon were able to secure a beautiful cabin and barn owned by Brendon’s grandparents in Donnelly up near McCall, Idaho. Ally and her bridesmaids would get ready in the cabin, and Brendon and his groomsmen would get ready at a hotel in McCall.

As the day began, Ally spent her entire morning getting her makeup and hair done. Their family and friends spent the whole morning setting up outside. After Ally had gotten her dress on, Brendon was eagerly waiting to see his bride for the first time. However, Ally had another idea for their first look.

See, Ally had messaged us months prior because she wanted to surprise Brendon for their first look. Ally’s idea was to dress up Brendons younger brother, Devon, in a wedding dress, and have him be the first bride Brendon would see that day.

Of course Devon was all for it.

For their first look, their entire family had already shown up and were watching and waiting. None of them knew what was about to unfold. However, it was a hilarious gesture that really set the tone for the rest of the night.

After Devon’s entrance, and a good laugh, Ally walked down the aisle holding her flowers that were so beautifully prepared by Foxglove and Fern Floral. The two then beautifully recited their vows to one another, as their friends and family finally watched them say “I do”.

After the ceremony, everyone was free to begin eating and drinking as much as they possibly could. Off the Grid Pizza provided amazing all-you-can-eat brick oven pizza in a food truck, (I know pretty f*cking amazing). And dessert was provided in the form of an awesome donut wall. Speeches were made, conversations were had, and people drank their asses off (until about 9:30 or so when they felt it was time to head off as not only newlyweds, but two loving parents).

But before their send off, we were able to pull them aside, jump a fence or two, and take some beautiful sunset photos running through their family’s large pasture. It was clear to us just how perfect these two were for each other. Knowing them as teens and seeing them come and grow together, it really was the perfect ending to the start of the rest of their lives.

xx Michael
